Mimeo DH - 105 Revised October - 1966 AI Sire Summaries - August 1966 The AI sires listed herein had daughters, from AI service, on test with DHIA or DHIR records in Indiana. Records of production of daughters of these sires are shown in comparison with their non-paternal herdmates calving in the same season of the year. Production data shown for daughters with herdmates includes records from states other than Indiana. For convenience in use of this mimeo, sires listed are by breeds and in numerical order of registration number. Total daughters with herdmates records are shown. Average 305-2X-M.E. production of these AI daughters tested is shown. Next appears the production of herdmates with their 305-2X-M.E. production. The predicted difference is an indicated change in level of production, of a sire's daughters from the average of herdmates and variances from the breed average under wide use and. under all types of feeding and management conditions. This difference is indicated in part by the number of states reporting daughters on test. Thus, a sire with a large number of daughters in many herds and states with a large increase in both milk and butterfat production would be expected to provide satisfactory genetic improvement for a breeder. Lactation records reported include only those resulting from calving dates prior to November 1964. When an AI evaluation is based on 5 to 24 comparisons, the summary should be considered "Preliminary." Lists of sires by registration numbers can be checked quickly through use of sire lists supplies by technicians or your own registration papers or breeding slips. The stud number, right-hand column, indicates the AI organization offering semen of the sire. See key following list of sires. Additional information on these and other AI service sires is available in the DHIA Sire Summary List. This list is available at your County Extension Office. This mimeo supplements other issues of DH-105 and should be filed with your other issues of DH-105.
