Purdue University Mimeo AY 5-F Agricultural Extension Service January, 1953 (1M) 1952 CORN HYBRID DEMONSTRATIONS RESULTS Conducted by County Agents and Farmers Cooperating with Purdue University Agronomy Department In this summary, yield averages for Indiana certified hybrids, two Ohio hybrids, several waxy hybrids and some Purdue experimentals designated as Exp. Hybrids are grouped by different sections of the state. They are arranged according to average yield sequence. All hybrids planted in each demonstration were replicated four times with three grains planted per hill except in rate of planting. Yields were computed on the basis of actual moisture determinations and are expressed in bushels per acre at 17.5 percent moisture. Yields and moisture are averaged for all counties in a given district. Detailed descriptions of each certified hybrid will be found in Purdue Circulars 340, 353, 342, Bulletin 544,and also in the Certified Seed Directory which lists names of growers. For early hybrid demonstration results in northern Indiana write for Ay-5-D.
