I. BUILD THE YOU ”Your best friend is control of yourself" a. Panel discussion might be given considering the following: What is your "Sales-Value?” Will you wear well? What traits must one develop to justify the following.."Everyone like him or her” ”He gets along well with everyone”. b. Dramatize - some character traits...For example, traits used in making a new-comer feel at ease. c. What character traits are most important in order to work with others? In what way do ideals influence our actions? d. Discuss popularity - its ingredients, its dangers and its responsibilities... Is popularity what we need to work with others? e. What is the key you need to make others happy" II. RECOGNIZE ABILITY "Great things come from little encouragements". a. How can you discover the talents and abilities of the shy. modest 4-H'er? of the trouble maker? of the "show-off?". b. Dramatize how you would work with one such individual who seems to be a problem. c. How much should you encourage the gifted 4-H'er? III. WORK WITH OTHERS THROUGH COOPERATION "Bossiness is not the way to leadership” ... "No one ever reached the goal Working Alone” a. Which group is easier to work with..Those older or those younger than yourself..You sa,. Well, the older ones are ”bossy" and the younger ones wo'^t mind me..Do you suppose you are trying to boss them? b. Dramatise how we might get a group of club members to decide to have an ice cream social, to give a play for a community center, to have a local 4-H exhibit and a tea for their parents or to have a 4-H dance.. It is all your idea but you want them to believe they thought of the idea and decided on it theinselves.
