1926 Extension Bulletin No. 143 JULY, 1926 DAIRY CALF MANUAL By E. A. Gannon Division of Dairy Husbandry F. M. Shanklin Division of Boys' and Girls' Clubs A good foundation for his dairy herd—alfalfa field, growing corn, youth and ambition, all of which should bring success to Howard Wright, a Bartholomew County calf club member. The purpose of this manual is to give suggestions to those interested in the organization of dairy calf clubs, and to place in the hands of the members of these clubs such detailed information on the feeding, care, and management of their calves, and on the keeping of their records as will enable them to succeed as club members and make a start towards the establishment of a dairy herd. Objectives Some of the many important objectives in dairy calf club work are here enumerated: 1. To develop the farm boy and girl in economic, social and recreational lines.
